A Note from Mother Theresa Louisa, lsp

February 9, 2021

Dear Families & Friends,

We have completed our second round of covid-19 vaccines and they went well. We have had five weeks in a row of negative tests, so for now our testing is once a month instead of weekly. We continue to pray for our next round of testing towards the end of February that all will be negative.

We have begun to open up internally for the Residents. The Residents who are able to attend Mass in the Chapel are delighted to be back and our 4th & 5th floor Residents can now enjoy dining together in the main dining room on first floor. All protocols including social distancing, wearing of masks and good hand hygiene are being followed. We hope to be able to invite our Apartment Residents back for Mass and meals sometime in the coming weeks.

The Minnesota Department of Health and the CDC anticipates changes for long term care facilities, however it will take time to develop and put these changes in place. We will continue to keep you up-dated as things change.

Thursday, February 11 is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, “World Day of the Sick” For the Residents who wish to receive the Sacrament of the sick they will be able to receive thanks to the generous availability of Priest-Friends of the Home. We continue to pray for the safety and good physical and mental health of all of you, and ask that all who want the vaccine may receive it quickly and safely.

We are most grateful to all those who have provided us with in-kind supplies and much needed funding to allow us to continue to make the additional purchases of food and cleaning supplies. Thank you for your continued support. We will get through this because we are not only partners in a Mission but family members working together.

Gratefully in Christ,
Sister Theresa Louisa, lsp
