The Reinhart Food Show held at RiverCentre in St. Paul was a great success! By the time the Little Sisters arrived, the floor was beautifully decorated with the various vendors beckoning the customers to their booths. Besides the food and drink, there were booths with glassware, kitchen appliances, battery operated candles, etc. One had difficulty knowing which way to turn.
The Little Sisters were fortunate to be included in the Food Show. Graciously, Reinhart Food Service placed tickets in the packets for all vendors to allow them to donate any unopened leftovers while J & J Distributors donated a truck, driver and pallet jack. When the whistle blew, so to speak, after the show ended, the Sisters, volunteers, and Knights of Columbus volunteers were called to each booth to pick up their products; we hit the floor running with our flat trucks, 2-wheelers and pallet jack to load the trucks. It was a good day for us; we returned home with a large (24ft.) truck in addition to our Suburban van full to capacity. There were wonderful varieties of foods – vegetables, fruits, bakery items, juices, canned foods, etc. Such a variety gives way to preparing alternate meals for our elderly. Our kitchen staff was very pleased.
