May 1 is a special day for the Little Sisters of the Poor. It is the feast day of Saint Joseph the Worker. It is also the day that Association Jeanne Jugan members renew their annual promise.
We were especially blessed to have Bishop Lee Piche with us to celebrate Mass. During his homily, the bishop reminded us all that the Little Sisters are no strangers to work and anyone associated with the Sisters are also well acquainted with this attribute.
Following communion, 14 returning members renewed their promise. This year we were pleased to welcome three new members into the Association Jeanne Jugan.
While each member brings their own unique talents to the Association, they are united with the Little Sisters to follow in Saint Jeanne Jugan’s footsteps. “Making the elderly happy, that is what counts!”
