When I called one of our benefactors to inform him that the Little Sisters would not be visiting today due to the frigid weather, he (Tony) said, “Sister you need that food. When will you be able to come and get it?” I mentioned probably Friday if the weather breaks and the temperatures are on the rise. Tony said, “No, what are you going to do until Friday?” I explained we would use what we have and make due until we were able to pick up some produce. Tony responded, “Sister, I’m going to bring some food over; I’ll use my own car. Just let me know what you need.” Off to the kitchen I went to get a list of just the bare necessities and then telephoned the warehouse to let Tony know what was needed.
True to his word, at 12:30 PM Tony arrived at our back dock with a car load of produce, and he kept apologizing saying, “Sister, I did the best I could.” Believe me it couldn’t have been better. There were 3 flat beds loaded with food; everything we needed and more. Thank you Tony for your caring.
