Many of the men of the house celebrated Father’s day by participating in our 2nd annual summer fishing trip on White Bear Lake. The weather was beautiful and the winds were calm. Couldn’t have been a better day! Since the men are outnumbered, we always find special sports and events for them to attend.
We started out with lunch at the local VFW with delicious food, as always. It also came with a wonderful view of the Lake! After lunch we set sail (with a motor) out onto the lake. A volunteer group called Bear Boating lead the voyage. They supplied the boat, polls, bait and an extreme amount of stories and facts deriving from White Bear Lake.
With a little bit of a slow start, the men were catching there fish, however the whoppers evaded us! 1st place was given to Richard Russell for highest number of catches with Ted Carlson coming in on a close 2nd and following in 3rd Bill Metzger.
Everyone had a wonderful and most important, relaxing fishing trip. We also were able to avoid all over boards! We give the volunteers of Bear Boating a HUGE thank you for their time and commitment for what they do for us and many others alike! Their mission truly brings smiles and memories to many!
