Recently a Mass was held at our home honoring the memory of all our military men and women who gave their lives for our country and our freedom. A few days prior to the Mass, Residents, Sisters, staff and volunteers listed the names of their families and/or friends who died in the military. St. Thomas Academy Color Guard was on hand to present the Colors, and following that presentation, the names of the deceased military were read by several of the young men serving in the Color Guard. Upon leaving the chapel each person was presented with an American flag and a flag pin. Additionally, everyone was asked to pray for one of those serving in the military. An envelope containing the name, rank, age, and date of death, was given to each person. Thank you to all who participated in any way in this special memorial service. A very special “thank you” is extended to all of our military men and women who served and gave their lives that we may live in safety and freedom. God bless them!
