My experience at The Little Sisters of the Poor has taught me many things. My memory is filled with life lessons and spiritual guidance.
One of the lessons I learned is that life is crazy, hectic and yes, can be very scary and very intimidating at times. Especially when it takes you to new places: away from your friends, your family and away from your home. The unfamiliar journeys in life look so big and so foreign; you’re afraid that you will get lost in it or even worse, you made the wrong decision about being there.
Life is also fun, exciting, and adventurous. Being at Little Sisters of the Poor has taught me to live in the present; that we don’t always need to have our lives mapped and planned out. I learned that we should always put everything into God’s hands and He will lead and guides us as our lives go on.
Also, I often forget how generous people really are. Lately we’ve only heard about the negative actions that take place in our world; rarely ever do we hear about positive things. So generosity is what I’ve leaned through out begging. There really are people in life that love to give so much, time, money, care, love and the list goes on. These people never ask for anything in return. We are so grateful for people like them and I believe God truly will bless all the benefactors and the people who put others before themselves at the end of time.
The staff and Resident’s here are great, and all the sisters here are great! We’ve shared lots of memories and laughs that we will keep near and dear to our hearts forever. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better summer and I would do it all over again if I could. Thank you all!
