Rocking in the New Year

The Residents, Sisters, and staff celebrated the closing of 2022 and the beginning of 2023 with a New Year’s Eve puppet show. The two characters of the show, homemade puppets named Carla and Alphonsa, decided not to exchange gifts this year but rather to give to others who were not as fortunate. They chose to visit the Little Sisters of the Poor and bring poinsettias to the dining rooms and to entertain the Residents with carols. The skit was enjoyed by all and followed by a lively sing-a-long, as well as dancing. The celebration ended with the “dropping of the ball” and a champagne toast to the New Year!
