St. Charles Borromeo School children and a group of home schoolers came to visit, volunteer and learn about the mission of the Little Sisters of the Poor. The Serra Club promotes these visits twice a year. There were 23 young women, all 8th graders. The day started with Sr. Maria Francis sharing a short story about St. Jeanne Jugan and showing a video about the spirit of service. Some of the girls helped with manicures, took the Residents for a walk, helped out in dining rooms and visited with the Residents. Others helped get holy cards ready for the May Crowning. The students enjoyed their day very much. The highlight of the day was taking part in Mass celebrated by Archbishop Flynn, who welcomed the girls and encouraged them to be faithful to Jesus Christ.
